    Only One Set of Footprints?

You may be familiar with the poem, "Footprints in the Sand."  You may also be familiar with Star Wars.  Put the two together, you get this:

    Google Guitar and Darth Vader

Hopefully you caught Google's doodle on Les Paul's 96th birthday.  As a tribute, they made the doodle live; you can record your own composition.

Abraham Piper points the way to one song you can play: Darth Vader's Imperial March.  Star Wars fans, check it out.

    Chewie and R2: Spies?

I'm a bit of a Star Wars geek.  I grew up watching VHS recordings of episodes IV-VI after they aired on television, fast-forwarding through the commercials.  I loved the action figures.  And I wasn't a huge fan of the prequels.

A tip of the cap goes to my friend Ryan Fitzhugh, who brought this gem to my attention a couple of days ago.  I had to share.  In a post entitled "A New Sith, or Revenge of the Hope," Keith Martin argues that Chewie and R2 were clever spies, serving as critical field captains for the Rebellion between Episodes III and IV.

I'd recommend reading this piece.  It is brilliant, funny, and imaginative.  Perfect for Star Wars geeks.
